Depending on the extent of these other elements, the story may or may not be considered to be a "hybrid genre" series; for instance, even though the Harry Potter series canon includes the requirement of a particular gene to be a wizard, it is referred to only as a fantasy series.
From the prehistoric accounts of pictographic script to the more organised form of writing, it has evolved with time into a more complex and sophisticated form. Today, there are plethora of writing styles and sub-genres around the world belonging to varieties of languages and dialects.
However there are five basic writing genres known to the world into which the myriads of other writing styles exist.
Here is an overview of the five broad writing genres and the writing style they best fit in: Expository Writing Expository writing is the most common among other forms of writing. You can find this type of writing in academic setting in the form of research paper, dissertation and thesis writing.
The purpose of expository writing is to explain to the readers about a specific topic. Biographies, news stories, how to- articles, business letters and personal letters are all examples of expository writing.
Writing to Communicate Writing to communicate is the earliest form of writing since the human exists.
